Your fixed all-inclusive price is confirmed at survey stage before anything is booked.
Export Packing and Inventory Preparation
International sea freight requires packing materials rated for weeks of transit and multiple handling stages. Our own export-trained crews use professional wrapping and moisture-resistant materials at your UK property. The packing stage also produces your Detailed Packing List (DPL), required by customs authorities at the destination port, used to process your clearance documentation.
Container Shipping and UK Port Departure
We match your confirmed volume to the correct container option and schedule shipment from UK port. FCL, a dedicated 20ft or 40ft container, gives your consignment exclusive use of the space with faster transit and fewer handling stages. LCL shared container means you pay for the cubic meterage your consignment occupies, which is the cost-proportionate option for smaller moves.
Customs Clearance and Destination Delivery
Destination-specific customs documentation — including the Australian B534, US CBP Power of Attorney, or EU Transfer of Normal Residence forms is prepared by Trunk Logistics before your consignment leaves the UK. How long does an international removal from the UK take?
Transit times depend on your destination. Australia takes 10–14 weeks, New Zealand 12–16 weeks, USA 6–12 weeks depending on East or West Coast routing, Canada 6–10 weeks, South Africa 4–6 weeks, and Dubai 4–6 weeks. These are door-to-door estimates including export packing preparation, port handling, sea transit, and destination customs clearance. Your confirmed timeline is set before booking based on your destination, volume, and chosen shipping method.
How far in advance should I start planning an international move?
Eight to twelve weeks is the recommended minimum. This allows time for a survey to confirm shipment volume, export packing materials to be sourced, and space to be secured on shipping lines. Shorter timelines can be accommodated but limit flexibility on routing and freight rates.
What is the difference between a full container and a shared container?
A full container gives your consignment exclusive use of a 20ft or 40ft container from UK port to destination port. It is the fastest option for complete household moves. A shared container, also known as groupage or LCL, means you pay only for the cubic meterage your consignment occupies, sharing the container with compatible shipments. Do you manage customs documentation for international moves?
Yes. Customs requirements are confirmed at survey stage and documentation is prepared before your consignment leaves the UK. Destination-specific requirements including the Australian B534, the US Power of Attorney, and EU Transfer of Normal Residence documentation, are managed as part of your removal. You do not need to appoint a separate customs agent.
