Home or Video Survey
For larger household moves we normally arrange a home or video survey. This allows us to assess the volume of items, identify any large furniture or fragile items, and plan the correct vehicle size and crew for your move.
Receive Your Moving Plan
Once the survey is complete, we prepare a clear quotation and moving plan. This outlines the services required, such as packing, dismantling furniture or storage, and confirms the schedule for your move.
Moving Day
Our removals team arrives on time, protects your furniture, and carefully loads everything for transport. Items are delivered to your new property and placed in the correct rooms.
Packing, Storage, and Staged Home Moves
Full Packing Service Before Moving Day
Our own export-trained crews pack your entire property, or specific rooms, such as kitchens, wardrobes, or fragile items, before moving day. Packing is completed in advance around your schedule, so moving day itself is straightforward loading and transport. All packing materials are provided by our team. Furniture Dismantling and Reassembly
Items such as beds, wardrobes, and large dining tables are dismantled by our crew before transport and reassembled in the correct rooms at the new property. This is confirmed at survey stage and included in your move plan.
Secure Storage When Move-In and Move-Out Dates Do Not Align
If your move-out date is earlier than your move-in date, or if your new property needs time before it is ready, we provide secure storage at our own Essex facilities so there is no third-party storage provider to coordinate. Options include warehouse storage, indoor self-storage rooms, and container storage. Storage duration and cost are confirmed at survey stage alongside your removal quote.
Staged Moves for Complex Relocations
For moves where not everything can be delivered at once, we move essential items first and store the remainder for delivery once your property is ready. This is planned at survey stage and coordinated by your single Trunk Logistics contact throughout.

How much does a home removal in Essex cost?
The cost depends on your property size, distance between collection and delivery addresses, whether you require packing, and whether storage is needed. Trunk Logistics does not offer online estimates so every price is based on a survey and an assessment of your requirements. A one-bedroom flat local move and a five-bedroom house move to another region involve completely different crew sizes, vehicle requirements, and time. Your fixed all-inclusive price is confirmed after your survey, before anything is booked.
Do you normally carry out a survey before moving a full household?
Yes. For larger home moves we usually carry out a home or video survey so we can understand the volume of items, access conditions and any large or fragile furniture. This allows us to plan the correct vehicle size, crew numbers and equipment before moving day.
Can you pack the entire house before the move?
Yes. We offer a full packing service covering the entire property or specific areas such as kitchens, wardrobes, or fragile items. Packing is completed before moving day by our own trained crews.
Can you dismantle and rebuild large furniture?
Yes. Items such as beds, wardrobes and large dining tables can be dismantled before transport and reassembled in the correct rooms at the new property. This helps ensure furniture is moved safely and positioned correctly.
How do you protect furniture during a house move?
Our crews use protective blankets, wrapping materials and careful loading techniques to prevent damage during transport. Larger furniture items are wrapped and secured inside the vehicle before the journey.
What if not everything fits into the new property straight away?
If space is limited or your new property is not ready, items can be placed into our secure storage for as long as needed. Storage cost and duration are confirmed at survey stage.
Do you help position furniture in the new house?
Yes. When unloading we place furniture and boxes into the correct rooms so you can start settling into your new home without needing to move everything again later.
